Description
This here is an example of what Desert Strike may, or may not look like had it been converted to Board Game form. It was a project concocted for our course at University, in which we had to decompile a game into it's core elements, and convert it as best we could to the more traditional table-top game genre.
So why not go for simple! At least, that was our initial thought. The Mechanics, Dynamics and Aesthetics for Desert Strike run quite deep, it seems a simple game on the outside but theres a lot of underlying thinking involved, and chance. So we highly played on the chance factor and incorporated it into the game as shown by the ' poster ' we had to create to promote our game at a pseudo-exhibition.
I may dig out the original template for the game and make it a downloadable item to be able to print out and play, perhaps expand the game's size (like, incorporate all 5 missions of DS, and have each mission as a board, so you can link them all together as one big game board).
Something to consider. Crits welcome albeit a bit late, did this almost a year ago and just found it ^_^

Pretty hardcore. I bet it was fun doing this project!
