Ah, spring. A month of new beginnings, a month for reconciliation ... and even more god damned assignments!
But lets talk about what good things are going on in the land of me. Well, I've started to dabble in the world of PSP Homebrew production. What was once a brick posing as an mp3 player, is now the portal to my gaming heritage thanks to custom firmware. So now I've decided I'd take a stint at the old homebrew side of things and see what I can come up with. I've done C++ and OpenGL programming before, so I should hopefully be able to throw some of that about and see what the little thing says about it.
Actually, I may start by doing something simple. We'll see.
What else ... oh yes, my assignments. As much as I despise the little buggers, some are actually quite creative and fun. Creative Technologies, for example, asks us (as in groups) to create something to do with IPTV. In our groups case, something like Top Gear but for video games. Should be a riot, provided we all pull our weight on the workload. Data Networks and the Web asks us to make a *gasp* Website that connects to a database (i.e. e-mail notification system). As tediously simple as that sounds, it gives me a chance to splash out on the site design itself. If anyone has seen flyakite's website, thats a similar concept to what I want to achieve ... sometime soon D:
Personal stuff now. It's all a bit quiet on the homefront, quite boring actually. I've just finished my last bit of commission work and taking a break. So if anyone wants to drop me a line on anything 3d based (not characters, at least not yet) please do so ... just give it a week or so. Friday just gone was quite fun, saw a buddy outside GAME at around 8:30am with his girlfriend waiting to pick up FFXII on it's release. I thought it was quite cool of them, til they told me they had been there since 5am o_O. So I hung around in the off-chance they collapsed of sleep-deprivation.
In a previous entry, I mentioned a fan-fic I was contemplating. Well, as slowly as it's going I'm in the process of writing up the intro. Be warned however, I (and this is with extreme emphasis) suck at writing stories. Scripts, piece of cake, but into actual narrative? Like pissing on an oil rig fire, pointless.
ANYWAY, I'm sure you filthy rabble have better things to do than sit around reading about my woes and such. So get on out there and do something productive.
Like what?
Hell if I know.

Rantings of a ... rant type person ...
"Bant (bantt) Contraction of banned. When an individual is barred from a forum or server. Frequently followed by multiple cases of the word lol."
Yeah, I'm in one of those moods today. Where everything seems to be going fine, only for 1 simple thing to come along and dump it's metaphorical excretement on your lap and screams "DEAL WITH IT" in your grill.
University life is becoming more eventful by the day, since I last posted I met a bunch of people on my regular bus journeys who I am now more than happy to call my friends. Funny how asking a person for the time can sprout a plethora of new friendships. Assessment wise, I have 2
It's make up your mind time folks!
So here I am. Sat again in another 2 hour workshop revolving around Game Maker ("oh joy"). It's not difficult, by all means it's the opposite. It's just so BORINGLY LONG WINDED :(
Anyway, todays theme is RTS style gameplay. So they practically want us to make our own command and conquer game. Primarily I thought that was actually a cool prospect, until I remembered how much of a chore scripting and coding a simple platformer was a few weeks ago ¬_¬ .
So while I write this and think up different ways to assassinate my demonstrators, I have Guild Wars updating on this PC. I've ordered Nightfall, should arrive either tomorrow o
Layers, Layers, Layers, F'ing Campers, Layers ...
I'm not really a journal writing kinda guy, I don't like to bore people with my menial goings on. But when in Rome ...
So today I bought Company of Heroes. I'm staring at the box right now, contemplating how my pc will react when it sees the required specifications. I assume it will throw a hissy fit and throw blue screens and odd noises all over the shop, so I'll wait a while before I install it, perhaps after a graphics card upgrade or 3.
Gah, I hate to sound like a broken record but University seriously makes me laugh when it comes to organising student timetables and lectures. Couldnt organise a bun-fight in a Bakery =/ . However,
Captain's Log ... uh ... Tuesday.
Well god damn, summer just flew by :( . Uni sparks up again at the backend of September, so that should keep me on my toes. I swear, you wait with baited breath for the summer to come along, 3 months of sans-work ... and 2 weeks into it you get bored out of your head and want something to do =/
I guess my inspirational juices are slightly dried up as of late, too much on my mind etc.
So anyway, I might update this account somewhat soon, although ... I'm usually too busy perusing around other people's galleries with a my jaw a-dropped to do anything :)
